Happy weekend! Here’s another Fresh Friday with Amanda!
Everyone’s doing it – creating personal wedding blogs or websites. Wedding JoJo offers free wedding websites, or a service with advanced features (such as RSVP management) for a monthly fee.
Unique reception entertainment? It could be interesting. Wedding magicians seem to be quite popular in the UK: David Willmott,
Mike Driver, Sav – deceptionist (love his tagline, “A truly marvelous party guest”).
Or maybe something more local, like dueling pianos! Try Deuces Wild, and and check out their Wedding Media Kit for more specific information.
Affordable and Stylish – The Limited is launching a bridal line! And when I say affordable, check out the bridesmaid dresses prices. Catch a sneak peak at Lucky right now and Glamour Weddings.
Nothing comes between a woman and her shoes, unless you are an intern and those shoes are $500! Intern Amanda would love to have the gorgeous Jimmy Choo Mary Janes. If you would like to support her cause, I placed a fund jar on her desk and my pennies aren’t quite adding up yet.
Speaking of shoes, if you are not familiar with TOMS, check it out. For every pair of shoes you purchase, they provide a new pair of shoes to a child in need. They also offer Wedding Styles, and here’s the kicker – if you outfit your entire wedding party in TOMS you get a deal. And, if wearing a pair of heels puts you a few inches up on your man, then these flat, comfortable, charitable shoes are perfect!
And finally, brainstorming gifts for your bridal party? There are many traditional items such as jewelry, cuff links, flasks, or pretty much anything engraved or monogrammed. A friend of ours gave each groomsmen a Canada/USA hockey jersey with his last name embroidered on the back. Perfect for that group of guys! I think making gifts unique to fit the crew is creative, especially if you decide to give every person a little something different. Here is a list of links to start you on the idea path:
Martha Stewart Weddings -
Gifts for your bridesmaids slide show (check out the last few slides for sure).
A little something blue
Something new for him - This offers the idea up as gift for the groom, but I think the guy party might dig it.
Style Me Pretty: Bridesmaid Gifts Round-up (be sure to check out I, II, and II)
Red Envelope is always a good place to shop or online window shop! And they have Green Gifts!
The Knot: Bridal Party Gifts offers ideas and shopping.
InStyle Weddings thinks you should check out Henry Road. More ideas from InStyle Weddings here.
